We have an exciting announcement to make!! The five of us were picked by a local hotel to be in a photo shoot! And that hotel just happens to be Gavin and Logan's favorite place, the Edge! The shoot last two days and Galen and I are excited and anxious to see how the boys, and Rylynn tolerate it.
Last night we went up to the cabin to hang out with Galen's family. Seth and Sarah were so good with the boys. They took them down to the water and taught them how to throw rocks in the water. Gavin and Logan were so excited and kept jumping up and down, yelling "big splash! Do more!" "Throw rockies!" Seth even loaded up a big cardboard box full of rocks and they got to throw those off the dock.
They also got to help Sarah with the Bon fire and helped her very carefully throw in a little cardboard. Gavin sat in a chair and watched the fire, he was in awe of it. He also requested marshmallows and reminded everyone that he had marshmallows at the Edge. Later, Seth and Sarah helped the boys roast marshmallows and make s'mores. The boys were such a sticky mess by the end of the night but it was so worth it. And they slept until 10:30 today.
My favorite part of yesterday was when Z was trying to reach a tray of veggies and Gavin looked at her and said "no Z, don't touch that." He is starting to become a little bossy. We managed to escape with only one injury, Logan's head of course. He tipped a chair he was sitting in, right into a card table. His right eyebrow now has a very nice red mark and a bump.
Rylynn is still doing really well. She is really reaching for things. Her favorite toy is her doll and she loves to talk to it. She also has developed an interest in Bowser and likes to watch him run around. She still has big smiles and great laughs.
The other day I showed her a video of herself cooing and laugh. Immediately, she started smiling, cooing and laughing back. It was so adorable but at the same time it made me a little sad that there is only one of her. Gavin and Logan could just look at each other and coo and laugh. Poor Rylynn is stuck with just a video. At least she has Gavin and Logan to make her laugh.
She had cereal for the first time last week. Gavin was very upset by the idea of Rylynn having cereal and he kept saying"no, no, Rylynn milk." Maybe he thought she was going to eat all of his Cheerios? Logan kept trying to "help" feed her and he basically ended up trying to shove the spoon down her throat. We are still working on the whole gentle concept.
Rylynn seemed to enjoy the cereal. She looked a little confused at times and then she got annoyed because she wasn't being fed fast enough. I wish I could say that she has been eating cereal since she first tried it but Logan thought it was a great idea to dump her cereal all over the kitchen floor. And Bowser thought it was a great idea to eat it off the kitchen floor. There is never a dull moment in this house.
My phone is going to die soon but I wanted to include some of my favorite memories of the past few weeks.
Gavin sitting by Bowser as he was eating and telling him "good boy."
Logan standing at the top of the stairs, yelling at the top of the stairs, "brother, Gavin, come here!"
Gavin asking for two more minutes of something or requesting one more Mickey. He's learning how to bargain and it's scary.
Logan getting his tools together and saying "help Greg."
Making Gavin and Logan share the front of a cart at Target because all of the double carts were gone, they were not happy. Eventually Logan decided he wanted to walk.
Gavin listing off Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy and requesting to "go see them."
Logan frequently requesting to watch DBD's (and no that's not a typo) and then trying to take them in and out of the DVD player.
