We Survived!

Well, the good news is we survived the weekend without Galen (thanks to my parents and Sami) but things could have gone a little smoother.  I ended up with the flu the day that he was leaving and spent six hours in the hospital getting IV fluids because I was so dehydrated.  Luckily, it did the trick and I was feeling a bit better by the time I came home.  On Monday, Gavin and Logan were beyond crabby.  Everything made them cry, they didn't even want to go outside and play.  After the worlds shortest nap, and multiple meltdowns because "dada" wasn't home, I packed the boys up and we went to the doctor.  It turns out that Gavin has an ear infection and Logan has two ear infections.  While I hate seeing them sick, it's always a little bit of a relief to know that there is a reason behind their crying.  Ten days of antibiotics for them and things should clear up.

Monday night, we went to the airport to pick up Galen.  When we were getting ready to go the boys had huge smiles on their faces and kept running around saying "dada dada dada."  They were so excited.  Gavin even started saying "port" for airport.  Galen's flight ended up being a few minutes delayed so Gavin and Logan got to run around the airport, luckily Katie was there to help me chase them around.  As soon as they saw Galen, their faces lit up and they went running for him.  The whole car ride home they kept saying "dada" and their little voices just sounded so relieved that he was finally back home.

Six Weeks To Go!

Only six short weeks until Baby Girl arrives!  I've been in panic mode the past few days trying to get things reorganized and make space for her stuff!  I think it's safe to say that our house is slowly being taken over by pink.  Gavin and Logan are having a great time exploring the baby swing, bouncy seat and pack n play.  They like to put their stuffed animals in the swing and push them.  Yesterday, they threw a bunch of their play food into the pack n play.  Occasionally, they will come up and touch my stomach and say "baby, baby"  the other day I asked Gavin if he wanted to feel the baby kick.  He started kicking my stomach instead, but had a huge grin on his face.

Gavin and Logan continue to expand their vocabulary everyday.  I'm always shocked by the things that they can say, couch, push, purse, swing, fork, spoon, choo choo and blanket are their new favorites.  They also can push up their sleeves before they eat and are getting better at brushing their teeth.  Bedtime has been going really well (knock on wood) they go down at 9pm and spend a little bit of time talking and laughing but after they fall asleep they stay asleep until 8:30 or 9am.  I can't complain about that!  We have even managed to get rid of bottles at nap time.

This weekend Galen goes to Vegas for his brothers bachelor party.  Luckily, my parents are coming to help out for the weekend so that I can work.  But Sunday to late Monday night it will be just me, Gavin, Logan and Bowser.  I'm praying for an uneventful weekend and healthy kiddos!

Snow, Snow, Snow

We got a decent amount of snow today!  Gavin and Logan had fun looking out the window and watching the flakes fall.  They would point and say "snow, snow, snow!"  Unfortunately it was too windy to bring them out while it was snowing but hopefully we will get them out tomorrow.  They love to be outside.  Galen usually brings them out and the wander around the yard, visit Cama, ride in the sled and play with buckets and shovels.  They bring out their sand shovels and like to help Galen shovel the patio.

Every time that they have to come inside they have a major meltdown.  If they could stay outside all day they probably would.  Gavin even got mad the other day because I wouldn't let him go outside in just his diaper and snow boots, which he had put on all by himself.  They both spend a decent amount of time running around the house in their boots.

We ended the day today with a Choo Choo Mickey episode and some popcorn.  Logan thought he was so cool because he held on to the popcorn bowl while the ate.
