Wordless Wednesday And An Update

Logan had an appointment for his head today and the nurse practitioner was very pleased with his progress.  He has to go back in another month for an appointment with a doctor instead of a nurse practitioner.  If that appointment goes well then he will be done with head checks.

Gavin stood up for a few seconds on his own today.  He was sitting and just stood up by himself.  I'm not sure if I'm ready for him to be doing this yet!

Logan's Ears

Poor Logan can not catch a break with ear infections. Last Friday we found out that he has another one, so we started another ten days of antibiotics. Today we met with his doctor to discuss our options. Basically what we were told is that if he gets another ear infection by May we will be refered to an ear, nose and throat specialist to discuss having tubes put it. His doctor is hopeful that he will not get another one by May since we are reaching the end of cold and flu season. I don't have any opinions in this, I'd love for him to stop having ear infections and not have to have tubes, or more antibiotics. But if tubes will stop the ear infections then I'm all for them.

10 Months Old

Gavin and Logan are ten months old today! We were supposed to celebrate by having them hang out with Galen all day while I worked a million hours because of St. Patrick's Day. While that idea sounded awful for the past month, it's sounding pretty great today. All four of us are at home with the flu. Luckily the boys have been content despite being sick and have managed to sleep a lot. I do think there should be a rule that both parents can't be sick at the same time. It would make this so much easier.

Ear Infection Round Three

Gavin now has an ear infection. He was up most of the night last night crying. We finally got him to sleep in his carseat but that only lasted for a few hours. Luckily we were able to be seen quickly in Urgent Care and get him medicine. Two babies with ear infections should make for an interesting flight tomorrow!

Ear Infection Round Two

Logan has another ear infection. We spent an hour in the ER early this morning getting him checked out. Once again he had been super fussy, refusing to sleep and he just wasn't being himself. After a few hours of consistent crying last night I decided he should get looked at then, instead of waiting for Urgent Care to open. Of course he fell asleep on the way there and I contemplated just bringing him home. The only reason I didn't is because we leave for California on Saturday and I wanted him to get looked at here instead of having to go to the doctor out there.

So he is on another ten days on antibiotics, one that's stronger than the last.  He has to go back in two weeks and get his ears looked at by his regular doctor to make sure things are clearing up.  Hopefully this will be the last of our ear infections for a while.

Wordless Wednesday and a Little Update

Gavin and Logan had their 9 month (well 9 1/2 month) check up last Friday.  Their doctor is very impressed with them and said that by looking at them you would never know they were five weeks early!  He also said their standing skills are very advanced for being this young.  Exciting, but scary!  Gavin now weighs 18lbs 10oz and is 29.5in tall.  Logan is now 18lbs 11oz and 30in tall.  It's crazy how much bigger (and heavier) they have gotten.  When they were first born I remember thinking how heavy they were in their carseats and how much work it was to carry them around.  Well, it's a lot more work now.

Both boys are moving around like crazy.  They crawl super fast and are always on the go.  Just this week they have started holding on to furniture while they walk around.  This is resulting in a lot of accidents and Logan has had a big bruise on his forehead for the past week.  One of the tragic things about them moving around so much is that they get into everything.  Right now, Gavin is chasing after the remote and Logan keeps banging on the keys as I try to type this. Blame all misspellings and random letters on him.

They are also starting to talk more and are saying mama and dada.  The best new thing that they do is talk to each other.  In the mornings they look for the other one and get a huge smile on their face when they find him.  They have also started to beat each other up a little more.  The other day I had both of them in the same crib and when I went to check on them a little later Logan sleeping face down.  Gavin was sitting next to him hitting his head and back with his hands.  When I picked up Gavin, Logan woke up and started screaming.  I guess Gavin's hits were soothing to him.  They also manage to knock each other over when they are trying to stand and get around.  And they use each other to stand up.
