Trick or Treat!

I really wish that I could say we started Halloween out on a good note, but not so much.  Little Miss Rylynn has croup and pneumonia.  I brought her to the doctor on Wednesday because of her cough and because she had been sleeping so much.  Never in a million years did I suspect that she had pneumonia.  So, she is on steroids, antibiotics and breathing treatments every four hours.  Luckily she is tolerating everything pretty well, we just wish that she would sleep a little more.  This morning she woke up with a fever and has been fighting that off today, we followed up with her doctor today who said to keep doing what we are doing and come back again next Friday.  We are hoping and praying that she sleeps better tonight so that Galen and I are able to sleep.

Now that the bad news is out of the way, Gavin and Logan had a blast on Halloween!  They had been so excited all week and every day asked if it was time to go trick or treat.  They also kept talking about their costumes, Gavin the monkey, Logan the puppy, Rylynn the ladybug and Bowser the turtle.  After their nap yesterday, the boys got their costumes on so we could go visit Beth, Patty and the pub.  Everyone was so excited to see them and Gavin and Logan were excited about candy.  Logan kept trying to take multiple pieces of candy out of the buckets.  Sami even came up from the cities to help us out.  On our way home, Gavin managed to chew his way through two Kit-Kats and get chocolate all over himself and his carseat.

After we went visiting, we came home, had dinner and waited for the cousins to come over.  We managed to get a picture of all five kids, without any of them melting down.  Then we went trick or treating around the block.  Sami stayed at our house to hand candy, the boys got to ride in their new wagon and Rylynn in her stroller.  At first the boys were a little shy about going up to the door but after the first house they quickly caught on.  They were saying "trick or treat, Happy Halloween, thank you and ring another doorbell, next house!"  They hardly rode in the wagon because they wanted to walk with all of us.

Our plan was to go to more houses with Sami but we ended up visiting Grandma at work and by that time, it was already 8:00 so we headed home for Halloween cupcakes that the boys had picked out to share with Sami.  They weren't really too fond of the cupcake part and just liked the frosting so they tried to get Sami to eat the cupcake part.  There were a few tears about not getting to eat a lot of their candy but we talked about saving the candy and mailing some of it to our friends who weren't able to go trick or treating.  After that, we watched a little Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Gavin and Logan headed off to bed.
