Sweet Summer Time

After a week of rain and 50 degree temperatures, summer has finally hit Duluth.  We were able to go for a a few walks and the boys got to experience Canal Park for the first time.  They didn't seem too interested since they slept the whole time.  We also got Gavin on the hammock with Galen for the first time and the boys enjoyed sitting outside in their bouncy seats.  The best part of the warm weather...cute summer outfits.  I'm so excited that we don't have to keep them in a bunch of layers just to keep them warm.  They really seem to be enjoying the freedom that onsies bring.

The boys have been growing like crazy.  Logan has outgrown preemie clothes and actually fits into newborn clothes!  Gavin is on his way to out growing his newborn clothes.  Last week we got the okay to take them off of their 22 calorie preemie formula and switch to regular formula.  I'm impressed with how well the 22 calorie stuff worked.  They now have cute chubby cheeks and have recently started struggling with baby acne and receding hair lines.

At my last doctor appointment the doctor confirmed that they are in fact fraternal.  We suspected this all along but it was nice to have the doctor confirm.  We are starting to notice more differences in them.  Gavin's face is longer and Logan's is wider.  Gavin's nose is a little bigger.  Logan has my feet and Gavin has Galen's.  It's actually easier now to go back and look at pictures from the day they were born and tell them apart.  Had I been smart, I would have brought different colored hats for the nurses to put on them right after they were born.

In the past two weeks the boys have become louder.  Logan grunts constantly and makes loud sucking noises when he has his paci in his mouth.  He still has a cute little whimper that he only does when he is getting his diaper changed.  Gavin also grunts and has developed a much louder cry.  He isn't afraid to let us know when it is time for him to eat.  Both boys are starting to hold their heads up for much longer periods of time and really like to show off how long they can go.  We've also decided that Gavin will be rolling over any day now, he managed to make it from his back to his side today.

We were able to have some wonderful visitors in the past two weeks.  Jake and Nicole came up for a last visit before he took off to San Francisco.  It's hard to believe that we won't see him for a while, but we are so proud of him.  Plus it gives us a great excuse to go visit California.  Gran and Papa also came up to meet the boys for the first time.  It was so cool to see them with their first great grandchildren.  I think they really enjoyed the boys.
