The second weekend in August was quite busy! Seth and Sarah got married! Thursday, we had the rehearsal dinner. Gavin and Logan enjoyed giving high fives to various people, running on the stage and eating ice cream. By the time we left, we were all exhausted.
Friday was the wedding, which was up at the cabin. Once again, the boys had fun running around. They even fed Seth some goldfish before the ceremony started. As the wedding party was walking down the aisle, Gavin yelled "done, go home!" And the started crying. We ended up having to stand to watch the ceremony.
Sarah hired babysitters for the evening so we had them watch Rylynn. It was nice to be able to chase the boys around without carrying her around too. When we were eating dinner, Gavin and Logan kept wanting to go up to the head table and see Seth and Sarah. Once the dance party started the boys were having a blast. They loved dancing with everyone and Gavin kept wanting to jump. Galen and I had to keep finding other people to jump with him because our arms were so tired.
Saturday we headed back up to the cabin to hang out with everyone but it didn't last too long. Rylynn was so fussy and kept spitting up so we headed home after a few hours. While we were there they boys got to play some toss, sit on the dock and drink a lot of lemon water. Gavin kept telling people he was drinking beer.
A few days later, we went to Adventure Zone with Galen's cousins who were here from Texas. Gavin and Logan played a lot of games and would get really excited when tickets would come out of the machine. Their favorite game was Whack A Mole. With all of their tickets we were able to get chalk, play dough and cars. They have been walking around the house saying "new cars, drive them!"
We also went to Grill Wars one night. This was the first year that Galen and I haven't had to work so we thought we would go check it out. Logan's favorite burger was a wild rice burger and he ate about half a burger. He was also very willing to try all of the different samples. Gavin didn't really want to try anything. He was content to just eat chips. And Rylynn slept the whole time.
We also went out for Seth's birthday and sat outside on a deck overlooking the lake. The boys were in heaven. While we were sitting there a big boat was coming in and they got to see it go under the bridge. There was also helicopter that kept flying around. Every time they would see it they would yell "copter!" They even learned a new word, beverage.
Once again I can't believe how much Gavin and Logan's vocabulary is expanding. Pretty much everything they say now is two or three words long. Some of my favorites are come too, I do it, so big, like it, and trade you. I love how they speak, if they want to be carried down the stairs they say "carry you" if they want to be changed they say "change you." It's cute because we ask "do you want me to carry you?" They don't understand the whole me and you thing.
Rylynn had her four month doctors appointment. Her doctor is impressed with how big she is and made multiple comments about how healthy she looks. She is 26 in long and 17lbs 5oz, 95th percentile for height and weight. I'm a little nervous that all of the 18 month summer clothes I bought her for next year aren't going to fit. She had to get three shots and did really well.
She also started sleeping in her own bedroom this week! I hadn't moved her out of our room yet because I was worried we wouldn't hear her if she woke up, but she screams loud enough there is no way we will sleep through it. So far, she's been doing really well. She goes to bed around 10 and usually gets up at 8 to eat and goes back to sleep.
